Self-adhesive labels come in a wide variety of types and can be classified based on factors such as face material, intended use, and printing method. In terms of face material, common types include paper, plastic, and film labels. Paper labels are relatively low-cost and offer excellent print quality, making them ideal for packaging food, daily necessities, and general merchandise. Plastic and film labels, on the other hand, offer superior water and abrasion resistance, making them suitable for humid environments or applications requiring high durability.

Based on intended use, self-adhesive labels can be categorized into product labels, logistics labels, food labels, pharmaceutical labels, and anti-counterfeiting labels. Product labels primarily display basic information such as product name, specifications, and price. Logistics labels are typically used to identify shipment details, facilitating transport and warehouse management. Food and pharmaceutical labels must clearly display relevant product information and comply with specific regulatory requirements. Anti-counterfeiting labels utilize specialized materials, printing techniques, or information technologies to enhance authenticity verification and security.

Self-adhesive labels can also be classified by printing and processing methods, such as standard printed labels, digitally printed labels, and labels with special visual effects. Advances in printing technology allow modern self-adhesive labels to go beyond basic information display; they can now incorporate features like QR codes, barcodes, and variable data. Some labels undergo additional processes-such as lamination, hot stamping, or die-cutting-to improve durability and visual appeal. Consequently, selecting the right type of self-adhesive label requires considering product characteristics, the operating environment, and cost constraints.
