The Development History of Self-Adhesive Labels

Label materials moved beyond standard paper to include options like PET and PVC, which offer superior water and abrasion resistance. Furthermore, the printed content became increasingly diverse; beyond basic text and graphics, labels now incorporate elements such as barcodes and QR codes, enabling additional functions like product identification and information management.

 

Modern self-adhesive label development increasingly emphasizes functionality, environmental sustainability, and smart technology. As the variety of products grows, there is a rising demand for greater label clarity, durability, and anti-counterfeiting capabilities; consequently, labels featuring anti-counterfeiting, traceability, and smart identification functions are increasingly being adopted in production. Simultaneously, the push for environmental sustainability has driven improvements in label materials and adhesives, aiming to minimize the environmental impact of their production and use. Looking ahead, self-adhesive labels will continue to evolve alongside advancements in digital printing, smart packaging, and eco-friendly materials, playing an increasingly vital role in product packaging and information management.
