Raw Materials For Food And Beverage Packaging Boxes

The raw materials of catering packaging boxes are mainly selected based on the purpose, cost and environmental protection requirements of the packaging. The common categories are as follows:

 

Plastic materials: mainly include PP, PE, PS, etc., which are waterproof, oil-resistant, light weight and low cost. They are often used in take-out lunch boxes, plastic lunch boxes and food packaging boxes. Among them, PP material has better heat resistance and is more suitable for holding hot food.

Paper materials: mainly use white cardboard, kraft paper, corrugated paper, cardboard, etc., which have the characteristics of light weight, easy printing, and good appearance. They are often used in burger boxes, fried chicken boxes, paper lunch boxes, and drink cups. Some cartons will also be coated or coated to improve their waterproof and oil-proof properties.

Aluminum foil material: Aluminum foil has good heat resistance, oxygen insulation and moisture resistance, and is often used in packaging for barbecues, baked rice, airline lunch boxes, etc. However, the cost is usually higher than regular plastic and paper packaging.

Plant fiber materials: Mainly using sugarcane bagasse, bamboo fiber, wood pulp, etc. as raw materials, lunch boxes are made by pressing and molding. This type of material has been widely used in recent years, has certain environmental protection advantages, and is suitable for use in disposable catering packaging.

Composite materials: In order to meet the requirements of waterproofing, oil-proofing, and heat preservation, some catering packaging boxes use a combination of materials, such as cardboard plus PE coating, pulp plus waterproof coating, etc., which can improve the problem of insufficient performance of a single material.
